Qualifications
I hold:
- a Bachelor of Commerce (Management) from the University of Western Sydney;
- a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Western Sydney; and
- a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law, Sydney.
Career
I was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2003.
After graduating I worked in mid to top tier law firms in both Australia and the United Kingdom. I specialised in employment and industrial relations law. That experience led me to become an in-house lawyer for multinational recruitment and outsourced labour companies.
I relocated to Singapore to manage the regional legal affairs of a global recruitment company listed on the London Stock Exchange. I was responsible for providing legal advice to the company’s seventeen offices in nine countries around the Asia Pacific region.
Upon my return to Australia I gained academic experience by teaching at universities in the areas of corporate law, commercial law, internet law, and alternative dispute resolution. During this time, I also spent a considerable amount of time working within community legal centres, where I represented a broad range of people on personal legal matters.
In a twist of fate I was enticed up to Broome, Western Australia, where I became involved in community law work, particularly relating to child protection. I moved my firm to the Barossa in 2019 where I assisted people in remote communities in the areas of Commercial and Business Law, Family Law, Workplace Law, Wills and Estates and Debt Recovery.
I now operate my firm nationally from NSW, assisting the Australian Event Industry with Commercial and Employment Law matters.
A brief history of my life.
Before you engage my services, allow me to introduce myself, I am Kathryn Adams.
I grew up in South West Sydney and I’m the youngest of two girls. As a youngster, I enjoyed hanging out at the skating rink, which was (at the time), the centre of the town’s social scene. My passion for fitness has followed me through life and has often been a vent for me during challenging times, it has also provided me with challenges I never thought I could achieve. I now enjoy triathlons and running events, with a goal to one day compete in an ultra trail run or ultramarathon.
My other love is photography. I enjoy capturing the beauty of landscapes but have dabbled with interiors and portrait photography as well. My camera is usually never too far away from me.
It’s not often that people are given the opportunity to live and work overseas. I have been fortunate enough to live and work in both London and Singapore. My parents (my Mother in particular) have always supported my adventures around the globe, and have often come to rescue me from some challenging situations, like the time I sustained a serious back injury from a horse riding incident in Singapore!
I relocated to Broome, WA in 2016 chasing an opportunity too good to refuse, then welcomed my son into the world in 2018. He has been a blessing with very good sleeping habits and a constant smile. My boy has grounded me and inspires me to appreciate the small things.
I’m now based in Sydney, NSW, using online means to service clients in the Australian Event Industry.
